Ciao a tutti!
Oggi, come avete potuto capire dal titolo vi parlo del 24 Agosto, ovvero del secondo giorno che io e il mio ragazzo Simone abbiamo passato a Malta per le vacanze estive. Abbiamo deciso di prendere il bus e andare a La Valletta, la capitale dell’isola. La stazione dei bus è enorme e i bus si fermano direttamente davanti all’ingresso della città (City Gate). Appena entrati sulla destra c’è il Parlamento. Noi ci siamo recati subito nell’ufficio turistico per avere conferma delle attrazioni visitabili e poi abbiamo iniziato dal Museo Archeologico. Il biglietto costa 5€, ma per gli studenti il ridotto costa 3,50€. Nel biglietto è compresa l’audioguida e per ascoltare tutto ci vogliono circa 2 ore. Qui sono conservati alcuni pezzi originali dei siti che poi siamo andati a visitare. Dopo pranzo siamo andati nella bellissima St John Co-Cathedral. Il biglietto costa 10€, ma gli studenti pagano 7,50€. Anche qui, compreso nel biglietto si può avere l’audioguida che spiega ogni dettaglio delle decorazioni. Questa chiesa è davvero spettacolare perché è in maggior parte ricoperta di oro ed è fortemente decorata. Inoltre il pavimento di marmo intarsiato è composto da quasi 400 lastre tombali. Per oltre 200 anni è stata adibita a chiesa conventuale dell’ordine dei Cavalieri di San Giovanni. Poi abbiamo visitato le Palace State Rooms (che purtroppo erano in fase di ristrutturazione) e la Palace Armery, che è piaciuta molto al mio ragazzo. Il biglietto cumulativo costa 8€, ma per gli studenti c’è lo sconto e costa 6€. Purtroppo non abbiamo potuto vedere molto delle stanze reali, ma nell’armeria abbiamo potuto prendere l’audioguida gratuita, che spiegava le varie tipologie di armi ed armature. Dopo ci siamo recati al Fort St Elmo all’interno del quale si trova il National War Museum. Il biglietto costa 10€, ma gli studenti pagano 7,50€. Il museo è sviluppato in ordine cronologico, ma la cosa più spettacolare è la vista che si ha dal forte. Poi abbiamo visto la Siege Bell War Memorial, che è un monumento con una grossa campana al suo interno. Dopo ci siamo recati al parco sopra la Saluting Battery per rilassarci un po’. Infine siamo tornati a casa con il bus. Spero che questa giornata vi sia piaciuta. Più in basso trovate alcune delle foto che ho scattato.

Today, as you may understood from the title, I want to talk you about our second day me and my boyfriend spend on holiday this summer. The 24 August we decided to take the bus and reach the capital of Malta: La Valletta. The bus stop in La Valletta is very big and they left us just in front of the entrance of the city (City Gate). After passing the gate, at your right you can find the Parliament. We immediately went to the tourist office to be sure what we can see in that day and then we moved to the National Museum of Archeology. The ticket costs 5€, but for student is 3,50€. With the ticket you can also take the audioguide. The museum is really big, so I suggest you to take at least 2 hours to visit it all. During the visit you can see some of the original rock that where in different sites around Malta. After lunch we visited the wonderful St John Co-Cathedral. The ticket is 10€, but for student is 7,50€. Also here you can have the audioguide which inform you about every details of the church. This building is really amazing because it’s mostly covered by gold and it’s really strong decorated. Furthermore the floor is made by inlaid marble and there are quite 400 gravestones. For more then 200 years this was the church of the St John’s knights. Then we visited the Palace State Rooms (which unfortunately where under restoration) and the Palace Armery, which my boyfriend really loved. Unluckily we couldn’t visit well all the Palace Rooms, but in the Armery we manage to have the free audioguide, which explains each type of weapons and armors. After we went to Fort St Elmo, where there is also the National War Museum. The ticket is 10€, but for student is 7,50€. The visiting is in chronological order, but the thing I loved most is the view from there. Then we walked around the walls and we saw the Siege Bell War Memorial, which is a monument with a big bell inside it. We continued walking and we reach the gardens above the Saluting Battery and we rested for a while. Lastly we come back home by bus. I hope that you like this day.
