Ciao a tutti!
Come alcuni di voi avranno visto sui social (mi trovate su facebook e su instagram), la scorsa settimana mi è arrivato un pacco di libri da IBS. Oggi vi svelo il contenuto di quel pacco, quindi iniziamo subito…
Questo è il libro che mi ha determinato il book haul, costava solo sui 2€ e non potevo non prenderlo! Sto parlando de “Il circo della notte” di Erin Morgenstern. Non so molto di questo libro, ma ne ho sentito parlare bene e per questo ho deciso di acquistarlo. Purtroppo però la sovracoperta è un po’ rovinata e sul retro è anche leggermente tagliata. Spero che in futuro i libri con copertina rigida siano trattati meglio.

Poi finalmente sono riuscita ad acquistare “Il ritorno del numero sette” che continua la serie delle Lorien Legacies di Pittacus Lore nella versione tascabile della TEA. Questo è il quinto libro e dopo è già uscito “Il destino del numero dieci” quindi non voglio spoilerarvi nulla. Se siete già a conoscenza di questa saga e ne volete parlare insieme scrivetemi in privato così chiaccheriamo un po’!
Ho anche deciso di prendere “The Help” di Kathryn Stockett che parla di come le domestiche di colore venivano trattate nell’America degli anni ’60. È sicuramente una lettura più impegnativa, ma questo tema credo che sia molto importante per fermare il razzismo. So che da questo libro è stata anche tratta una pellicola e quindi credo che dopo la lettura guarderò anche il film.
“Estate 1962. Eugenia Skeeter Phelan torna a vivere in famiglia a Jackson, Mississipi, dopo l’università. Sua madre desidera per lei solo un buon matrimonio, ma la ragazza ha in mente altro: diventare scrittrice. Il suo sogno si intreccia con quello di due domestiche di colore, la saggia e materna Aibileen e Minny, cuoca formidabile quanto sfacciata. Le tre donne si trovano a lavorare insieme a un progetto segreto, per costruire un mondo migliore.”
Infine ho deciso di comprare la saga compreta di “Gregor” di Suzanne Collins, perché è anche la scrittriche di “Hunger Games” e io ho adorato questa saga, spero che non mi deluda con quest’altra. I titoli completi sono: “Gregor – la prima profezia”, “Gregor – la profezia del flagello”, “Gregor – la profezia del sangue”, “Gregor – la profezia segreta” e “Gregor – la profezia del tempo”.
“Invece di passare l’estate a giocare con gli amici, Gregor si ritrova a gestire Boots, la sorellina di due anni, che parla come un alieno in miniatura. Un giorno, la piccola peste si tuffa oltre una grata e sparisce. I’ve bought this book because the price was very low: only 2€! I’m talking about “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern. Unfortunately the cover is a bit ruined and on the back the book cover is cutted. I hope that next time hardbook are better keep.

Then I finally manage to buy “The Revenge of Seven” by Pittacus Lore, which is the fifth book of the Lorien Legacies saga.I don’t want to spoiler anything so if you already know the saga and you want to talk with me, please feel free to contact me.
I also bought “The Help” by Kathryn Stockett which talks about how black maid were considered in America in 1960’s. This reading is more demanding, but I think that the subject is very important to contrast the racism. I also know that there is a movie aabout this book, so I’ll probably watch it after the reading.

Lastly, I’ve bought the complete saga of “Gregor/Underland Chronicles” by Suzanne Collins because I really loved “The Hunger Games”. The titles are: “Gregor the Overlander”, “Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane”, “Gregor and the Curse of the Warmbloods”, “Gregor and the Marks of Secret” and “Gregor and the Code of Claw”.
“When Gregor falls through a grate in the laundry room of his apartment building, he hurtles into the dark Underland, where spiders, rats, cockroaches coexist uneasily with humans.
