Eling Park e Graffiti Street

Ciao a tutti!

Oggi vi voglio parlare di un’altra giornata alla scoperta di Chongqing. In particolare vi racconterò della domenica in cui sono andata a visitare l’Eling Park e la Graffiti Street.

Raggiungere l’Eling Park (鹅岭公园) è molto facile perché sulla linea 1 (rossa) della metro c’è la fermata con il medesimo nome. Una volta usciti dalla metro dovete seguire una stradina in salita e dopo pochi metri siete arrivati. L’ingresso al parco è gratuito e non è molto grosso. Se è una bella giornata, come quella che ho beccato io, vale la pena salire su una piccola torre a godersi il panorama. Per salire sulla torre bisogna pagare un biglietto di 5¥.

Dopodiché ho preso un taxi e mi sono spostata alla Graffiti Street (Huangjueping). Devo dire che da questa strada mi aspettavo molto di più, invece ho notato che i disegni non sono stati tenuti benissimo e ce ne sono meno di quelli che mi aspettavo. Però in questa zona c’è anche una scuola d’arte e qui si possono trovare alcune statue divertenti.

Today I want to tell you about the day I went around Chongqing. In particular I want to tell you about the Sunday I visited Eling Park and the Graffiti Street.

Reach Eling Park (鹅岭公园) it’s really easy, because on the metro line 1 (red) there is a metro station called exactly Eling Park. When you get out of the metro station you have to go up in a little street and after a while you arrived. The entrance is free and the park is not that big. If is a really sunny day, as the day I went there, you can go up in a tower and see a wonderful view of Chongqing. To get up there you have to pay only 5¥.

After visiting the park, I took a taxi and I went to the Graffiti Street (Huangjueping). I was expecting a bit more from this place. The graffiti weren’t that much and are not well kept. But if you like art in this district there is an art school. In the garden of the art school you can see a lot of funny and strange sculptures and work of arts.

Huayan Temple

Oggi voglio parlarvi di un tempio non molto noto che ho visitato in un pomeriggio di marzo. Il tempio si chiama Huayan (华岩寺) e non è molto facile da raggiungere, ma secondo me è carino da visitare. Si trova a Chongqing nel distretto jiulongpo, ma si può raggiungere solamente in bus o in taxi (purtroppo non ci si può arrivare con la metro). L’ingresso è gratuito e il tempio è situato in mezzo ad un parco quindi in primavera dovrebbero esserci anche dei bei alberi fioriti. La statua che mi è piaciuta di più è quella placcata d’oro che si può vedere subito dopo l’ingresso.

Today I want to tell you about a temple I visited one afternoon of march. The temple is called Huayan (华岩寺) and it’s not so easy to reach, but I think it’s really beautiful. The temple is situated in Chongqing in the Jiulongpo district, but you can get there only by taxi or bus (unfortunately there isn’t a metro station near). There is no ticket to entrance and the temple is situated in a garden so I believe that in spring the atmosphere there became more wonderful. The part I liked the most is the first statue you see after the main gate, because is made of gold.

Arrivo a Chongqing / Arrival at Chongqing

Ciao a tutti!

Scusate se questa settimana non ho ancora pubblicato post, ma come vi avevo annunciato quest’anno seguirò un semestre all’Università di Chongqing 重庆大学 e fino ad oggi non avevo ancora il wifi in camera. Sono partita martedì 14 Febbraio e per arrivare fino a Chongqing 重庆 ho dovuto fare scalo due volte (e quindi prendere in totale 3 aerei): una a Francoforte e una a Pechino (dove ho preso un volo interno per Chongqing). Come vi avevo accennato nell’altro post, Chongqing è una delle 4 municipalità cinesi ed ha 32 milioni di abitanti. Il viaggio è stato molto lungo, soprattutto considerato il fatto che il tassista che mi ha portato all’università dall’aeroporto mi ha lasciato dall’altro lato della strada ed ho dovuto passare un attraversamento pedonale sopraelevato con la valigia da 23kg e il trolley…Per fortuna ho incontrato un ragazzo di colore di nome Kumi che mi ha dato una mano con le valigie e che mi ha aiutato ad entrare nel dormitorio e ambientarmi un attimo nel campus. Fino a lunedì non ci sarà la registrazione e quindi fino a quel giorno non credo di incontrare nuovi amici, ma non vedo l’ora! Non posso ancora dire molto della città perché non l’ho ancora visitata, ma riguardo all’inquinamento atmosferico e al traffico stradale credo che stiamo alla pari con Shanghai. Anche qui ci sono molti palazzoni, ma il terreno non è pianeggiante, anzi piuttosto collinare. La temperatura è abbastanza piacevole considerato che siamo a febbraio, anche se la stanza del dormitorio la trovo un po’ fredda. Anche qui come riscaldamento non hanno i termosifoni, ma un condizionare che spara aria calda o fredda.

Come primo aggiornamento credo che sia tutto, a presto per nuovi racconti sulle mie avventure qui a Chongqing!

Hi everyone!

Sorry if this week I didn’t publish anything yet, but as I already told you this year I will follow a semester at the Chongqing University 重庆大学 and until today I didn’t have the wifi in my room. I leave Tuesday 14th of February and to get to Chongqing I had to stopover 2 times (and of course I had to take 3 airplane): one in Frankfurt and the other in Beijing (where I took a domestic flight to Chongqing). As I mentioned before in the other post, Chongqing is one of the four Chinese municipality and has 32 million of inhabitants. The travel was very long, also if you consider that I took a taxi from the airport to the University and he left me on the other side of the street and to cross it I passed an elevated pedestrian crossing with my 23kg luggage and a trolley…Luckily I found a very kin boy called Kumi, who help me with the suitcases and he help comunicate to enter the dormitory. Until Monday I cannot register, so I think that until this day I won’t meet new friends (the international students are coming in these days), but I look forward to it! I cannot tell a lot about the city, because I didn’t visit it yet, but for the pollution and the traffic I can say that is very similar to Shanghai. Also here there are a lot of high buildings, but the soul is not plain, it’s hilly. The temperature is quite enjoyable, considering that we are in February, but the room in the dorm is quite cold. Also here they haven’t radiator, but they use air conditioner which can flow hot or cold air.

Beijing Day 6

Ciao a tutti!

Finalmente riesco a raccontarvi del giorno che siamo andati a vedere la Grande Muraglia (chángchéng 长城). La Grande Muraglia si può visitare in diversi punti, ma noi abbiamo scelto di visitare la zona di Mutianyu 慕田峪 perché è possibile scendere con uno scivolo che mostra una vista spettacolare. Arrivare fino a qui non è stato facile perché questo punto si trova a 60km di distanza dal centro di Pechino. Noi abbiamo raggiunto con la metro un grosso interscambio di pullman da cui abbiamo preso un bus che ci ha portati a Huairou 怀柔. Da lì abbiamo preso, contrattando molto sul prezzo, un taxi abusivo (un semplice signore con la propria macchina che si offre di dare passaggi) e siamo arrivati alla biglietteria per la Grande Muraglia. Noi abbiamo deciso di prendere i biglietti per salire con la funivia (80¥) e per scendere con lo scivolo (80¥), però non ci avevano avvisato che il tutto chiudeva ad una certa ora (e tra l’altro hanno chiuso anche prima dell’orario segnato poi sul luogo) e quindi alla fine siamo riusciti a scendere con la seggiovia. Inoltre bisogna anche prendere un bus che ti porta proprio sotto la Grande Muraglia che costa 15¥. Purtroppo non mi ricordo quanto costa il vero biglietto per la visita, ma credo sia intorno ai 50¥. Prima di visitare e la vera e propria Muraglia vi consiglio di visitare il museo gratuito delle pietre perché merita molto. Per tornare a casa abbiamo preso un altro taxi abusivo fino ad una fermate dal bus 916 e poi abbiamo preso la metro per tornare in ostello. Sono stata molto dispiaciuta per non aver potuto provare lo scivolo per scendere dalla Muraglia quindi ci tornerò sicuramente!

Il giorno dopo abbiamo fatto il check out e siamo tornati a Shanghai con il treno veloce, che ci impiega 5 ore circa.

Finally I can talk you about the day we went visiting the Great Wall (chángchéng 长城). The Great Wall can be seen in different places and we decided to visit the part in Mutianyu 慕田峪 because you can take a speed chute which let you have a very great view of the scenery. Get there is not very easy because it’s 60km far from the city center of Beijing. We took the metro to reach a great point of busses and then we took one of them to reach Huairou 怀柔. From there we took an abusive taxi (in China there are a lots of them) and we arrived at the ticket office for the Great Wall. We decided to pay the ticket to get the cable car (80¥) and the speed chute to get down (80¥), but they didn’t told us that it’ll close very early, so we couldn’t use the speed chute and we get down with the chair lift. To the Great Wall from the ticket office you also need to take a bus that cost 15¥. Unfortunately I didn’t remember how much was the ticket for the Great Wall, but I think is around 50¥. Before visiting the Great Wall, I really recommend you to visit the free museum of rocks because it shows really good things. When we come back to the hostel we took another abusive taxi to reach a bus stop and then we took the bus n916. Then we took the metro to reach the hostel. I was very sad that we didn’t manage to get down with the speed chute, so I look forward to visit it again!

The day after we have done the check out from the hostel and we come back to Shanghai with the high speed train, which takes approximately 5 hours.

Beijing Day 5

Ciao a tutti!

Finalmente torno a parlarvi del mio viaggio in Cina e oggi vi racconto cosa abbiamo visitato il 24 gennaio. Il tempo era abbastanza freddino, ma non come al Tempio dei Lama e quindi abbiamo deciso di visitare il Tempio del Cielo (tiān tán 天坛). Questo è uno dei posti che ho amato di più a Pechino. Il biglietto costa 28¥ per tutti e ridotto 14¥ per gli studenti e si può entrare in questo bellissimo parco dove ci sono anche degli anziani che giocano a carte. Qui gli imperatori delle dinastie Ming e Qing si recavano per auspicare un buon raccolto. Oltre all’Altare del cielo nel complesso sono anche presenti l’Altare circolare, il Tempio del Dio dell’Universo e la Sala per la preghiera dei buoni raccolti. Vi lascio alcune foto della giornata.

Finally I talk you again about my trip in China and I want to tell you what we visited the 24 January. The weather was a bit cold, but not so much as the day we visited the Lama Temple, so we decided to visit the Heaven Temple (tiān tán 天坛). This is one of the place I liked the most in Beijing. The ticket was 28¥, but for student was 14¥ and with it you can visit all the gardens where there are also some old man playing cards. There the Ming and Qing dynasties Emperor celebrated ceremonies where were burned some animals to sacrifice to heaven in order to have a good harvest. In this place there isn’t only the Heaven Temple, but are also the Circular Mound Altar, the Imperial Vault of Heaven and the Hall of Prayer for good harvests.
